This page provides general information about entry and visa requirements for travelers visiting Peru as part of an Adventure Travels tour.
Travelers from any country are welcome to join our Peru adventures, provided they meet Peru’s official entry requirements and hold valid travel documents.
Do I Need a Visa to Visit Peru?
For tourism purposes, many travelers do not require a visa to enter Peru for short stays.
Citizens of the following regions generally do not need a tourist visa for stays of up to 90 days:
- United States
- Canada
- United Kingdom
- European Union (Schengen Area countries)
Visa-free entry is granted at the discretion of Peruvian immigration authorities and is subject to standard entry conditions.
Travelers from countries not listed above may be required to obtain a tourist visa in advance before traveling to Peru.
Passport Requirements (Important)
All travelers entering Peru must have a valid passport.
While Peru itself does not always mandate a specific minimum passport validity period, most airlines require that passports be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your planned return date.
To avoid issues with airline boarding or immigration, we strongly recommend that your passport:
- Is valid for at least six months beyond your return date
- Has at least one blank page for entry stamps
- Is in good condition (not damaged)
Additional Entry Requirements
Upon arrival in Peru, travelers may be asked to show:
- Proof of onward or return travel
- Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of their stay
These requirements vary by nationality and are determined by Peruvian immigration authorities at the time of entry.
Travelers from Other Countries
Visa and entry requirements depend on your nationality and can change at any time.
If your passport was issued by a country not listed above, or if you are unsure about your requirements, you should verify your entry status directly with the Peruvian government.
